Cedar city July 2015

Finally a trip to Gammie's and Grandpa's house. We didn't come last summer because we just opened Bahama Bucks. It was nice to get out of the heat. Once we got their our days were jam packed.
The first day we went to the reservoir. It was breezy and the water was cold, but it didn't stop the older girls from swimming and playing in the water.

After that we went to lunch and then went to the aquatic center for more fun while Macie was taking her nap.
The next day, Grandpa took us fishing. We all wore Grandpa's hats, bought some bait (worms) and headed to the lake. At first the kids were scared to touch the worms and fish they caught, but by the end, they didn't think twice.
They each caught fish and reeled it in. They learned to cast the line and put bait on the hook.

A successful fishing outing and learned some patience in the meantime. It took us an hour before we started catching anything.

Levi was definitely in his happy place and so eager to help Grandpa out.

The next day we met my friend Jaime for lunch and got ready for our motorhome camping trip. The kids were beyond thrilled to ride in the motorhome and go camping. We camped at Duck Creek and had a blast!
The campsite was so pretty, shady, and table, fire pit, and lots of tall trees to play hide and go seek at night.
Playing marbles was part of our day fun.

At night we roasted marshmallows, fed the chipmunks, ran around an obstacle course we made up, and you guys visited hideaway you had found.
Macie had to take several baths cuz she would get so dirty.
The 2nd day of camping we drove to Mammoth caves. We all crawled and walked through 3-4 underground caves. We all had fun exploring and getting really dirty.

Hot chocolate in the morning was a must!

This, above, was the hideaway the kids found and played around.
Standing on top of the caves.
After our camping trip, mom had Younique party for me and I spent a lot of time starting Jordyn's baptism quilt.
Mom treated us to a horseback ride one morning.
Again, the kids were so excited and happy to ride real horses and take an hour long ride with a guide. Jordyn's horse was a little crazy, so she had to change horses and the guide helped her and his wife helped Levi and his horse follow around.

Macie and I rode on the same horse and I was impressed she sat still and was happy as a clam for an hour!

My favorite picture of Levi! I love this!
As if my kids didn't have any fun we ended our trip the night before and took the girls to see Beauty and the Beast at the Tuacahn theater in St. George. An amazing performance as usual.

The girls were lucky to see the 2 main characters after the show and were definitely happy to meet them in person. They fell asleep in the car before we left the parking lot.

Last but not least we had plenty of time to ride the 4 wheelers. We had to get one last ride before we drove home to Gilbert. The kids love going fast.

2nd book of HARRY POTTER

Read the 2nd book of Harry Potter this summer and as tradition goes when we're done reading the book I go all out in a harry potter dinner and lots of treats and we watch the movie.
The kids really got into the 2nd one. Jordyn listened to all of it and Levi listened to more of the book than last summer.

New this year was the Butter Beer popcorn and actual butterbeer to drink.
Had to dress up too for dinner and movie!

The wants are new this year and do magical things

This might be one of the kids very day of the year.

random summer shenanigans

Jordyn finally received her check in the mail for the Best Western Print Ad. She paid $15 in tithing, spent $15 and kept the rest.
Sydney showing me her back bend on the little table.
Macie playing with Mrs. Potato Head's lips
We dressed up one afternoon as cows and ate a free meal at chick-fil-a
Macie found the blue nail polish and had "art time."
And of course lots of swim time.

Fourth of July

Gammie and the Brookies came to visit us over the 4th. We went swimming, went to the McCormick Railroad in Scottsdale, Bahama Bucks, swim meets, and saw some great fireworks with friends.
The cousins had a blast having slumber parties, swimming, being together, and eating lots of treats.
Finn and Macie showed moments of interaction especially when we forced them to :)
Gammie and Macie cooling down. At this point Macie still wasn't keen on swimming but the week after they left she finally put her life jacket on and would swim all over the pool.
Rowan and Levi helped make our patriotic cake.

Fireworks at the Rigbys and then we watched really good fireworks from their balcony.
 What's a trip without a awkward photoshoot?!

Macie was fascinated with the fireworks!

Jeff's birthday

For Jeff's birthday he wanted to have a staycation with just the two of us. Of course I obliged to his birthday wish;) We stayed a cool hotel that is built into the mountain in tempe. This is us excited that we just left our kids for 24 hours. haha.
Enjoying the pool at the hotel without having to lifeguard 4 kiddos....so relaxing!
The next day we came home, brought them sundaes and sang Happy Birthday.
This was the first time we left them for a full night without family watching them. It was a young married couple in our ward. It all worked out great. Levi got his first bee sting when we were gone.  Jeff and I also hiked Camelback in the morning at 5 am! We had to go that early as to not get too hot. It was a huge hike, climbing over boulders that went straight up the mountain. It wasn't the hike I was expecting, but still i like that it was challenging and great views at the top. The night before we ate at Arrogant Butcher. A cool restaurant with a cool name.

summer shenanigans

Paddle boating in Tempe. Jeff, Sydney, and Macie were on one boat. Me, Levi, and Jordyn were on another boat. The kids paddled for about 5 minutes and I paddled the rest. We had a fun time and there was a breeze so it felt nice.
a gorgeous picture of jordyn

One weekend Uncle Ryan and Aunt Alison came to visit us. We played at the pool at lifetime fitness and they took you guys to Flipside for some fun.

Swimming is always a big part of our summer and cools us off. At the beginning of the summer you guys went to summer school. You took some fun classes like cooking, ceramics, and crime lab.
One saturday we went to the butterfly museum. Lots of butterflies to see and many landed on us. We learned everything to know about butterflies that day.
We dressed up like cows and got free lunch at Chick-fil-a
